Having worked almost 10 years years with students and in the community — I have a lot of experience with younger audiences. If your child and their friends, ages 9 - 17, want to learn to play D&D or build off their past experience with it, I’m happy to help!
In addition to being a social activity where we get to use our imaginations, role-playing games like D&D have a lot of benefits for the young ones in our lives. Including:

My time with educational theatre
I have toured to schools all over Southern California and performed plays covering certain health related topics, which were then explored further with follow-up workshops. I have performed for, and worked with, thousands of students in that time, both in person and virtually. Teaching these important topics, and speaking with students about their experiences has been incredibly fulfilling and I look forward to continuing that work through games like Dungeons & Dragons.
I worked with 3rd-6th graders on recognizing our big feelings, practicing empathy, and managing conflict. These topics were covered in a musical that we performed for the students and explored further in a drum circle workshop which often had me managing up to 70 students at a time — each with their own VERY tempting drum in front of them…
For our older audiences, 7th-12th graders, I toured a play that focused on anxiety, depression, and suicide prevention. Talking directly with students, I covered how to be there for those around us while prioritizing self care and recognizing that we are not alone in these experiences.
